US design firm Kimberly Timmons Interiors recently completed the construction documents for its first international project in China, the Yunling Mountain Golf Clubhouse. Principal Kimberly Timmons and Senior Designer/Project Lead Carissa Thompson are currently traveling to Kunming, China to present KTI’s designs. The nearly 44,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with championship-caliber 27-hole course designed by Rees Jones is situated on the outskirts of Kunming, known as the “City of Eternal Spring” for its mild, year-round temperatures.
The fabulous colors of the natural environment provided us with the inspiration on which to base our color palette. The overall design of the interiors is that of casual elegance that is warm, inviting and comfortable giving a sense of delight and peacefulness. Every element of this high-end resort has been carefully designed with layers of details from the floor patterns to the dramatic ceilings, intricate screen designs and hand-painted tracery.
The second phase of their journey will include traveling to various cities in search of furniture, art, accessories and unique elements that will pay tribute to China’s rich cultural heritage that will make this destination resort clubhouse truly special.
We hope this esteemed Kunming project will be the first of many international projects to come.
