Denver Life Magazine Designer Showhouse – Part II

Denver Life Magazine Designer Showhouse – Part II

When Kim McInnes and Nikki Holt of Kimberly Timmons Interiors were selected to participate in this year’s annual Denver Life Magazine Designer Showhouse charity event, the KTI design duo was looking forward to working alongside dozens of top-notch Denver-area designers, architects and vendors, and experiencing an “eclectic mixing of materials and cutting-edge design trends.” What the two designers didn’t expect is their design debut in the residential side of the business would end up landing them on the cover of this month’s Denver Life Magazine. To be precise, it was actually McInnes’ and Holt’s reimagined dining room that made the September cover. Nonetheless, the inspiring cover was another opportunity for the KTI organization to celebrate Denver’s high-profile philanthropic fall event. For the third consecutive year, the monthlong Denver Life Magazine Designer Showhouse event, which officially ended Sept. 24, was a collaborative effort between the magazine and leading area-builders, architects and designers with one charitable goal in mind: help raise more than $35,000 for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. The Denver home completely remodeled this year and opened for public viewing from Sept. 9-24 was a 1930s-circa Tudor-style home located in Denver’s Bonnie Brae neighborhood. Originally a modest one-story, 1,200-square-foot home, by the time Caliber Construction, Alvarez Morris Architecture and 13 different interior design firms finished with the project, the Tudor home almost tripled in size above ground and turned into an eye-opening, two-story home true to its Tudor roots with a “timeless modern feel.” And the resplendent dining room McInnes and Holt redesigned certainly did not disappoint. With the fortunate assignment of designing the open-air front dining room,...

149! Measuring Impact

There is something about stability in a business that is simply comforting. Kimberly Timmons Interiors is delighted to announce being named one of ColoradoBiz Magazine’s Top 250 Private Companies in 2015. This distinction puts KTI on a list with the likes of CH2MHill, Sage Hospitality, Hensel Phelps and Oakwood Homes, and top to bottom each of these businesses provides quality, stable working environments where Colorado people can find meaningful employment impacting their communities in positive ways. Coming in at 149 KTI is proud to join other strong contributors to the state’s thriving economy comprised of everything from energy to health care, technology to construction, manufacturing to financial services. Particularly noteworthy are the great number of businesses KTI recognizes as industry peers – builders, designers, developers, product manufacturers and vendors are all well represented throughout. At KTI we know that our work is about enhancing our client’s ability to share their products and services through well-designed spaces. We also know that the people who work here are where the magic happens. Providing them with a dynamic, inspirational work environment is a great feeling. Throughout the design and building community people are actively working to make the world a better place and the fact that these businesses are thriving is wonderful for all of Colorado. ColoradoBiz notes that in July 2015 Forbes magazine placed five Colorado communities – Denver (No. 1), Fort Collins (No. 10), Boulder (No. 26), Greeley (No. 33), and Colorado Springs (No. 37) on its annual ranking of the best U.S. cities for business and careers. Among the factors taken into consideration when measuring livability are quality of life, an educated workforce, and recreational and cultural attractions – pretty much what Colorado is all about! KTI...

Update on Yunling Mountain Golf Clubhouse

Update on Yunling Mountain Golf Clubhouse

Kimberly Timmons Interiors is happy to be continuing work on the Yunling Mountain Golf Clubhouse in Kunming, China. We are currently working on FF&E Specifications which will create a rich and sophisticated look to compliment the architectural style of the facility. In June of this year Kimberly Timmons and Carissa Thompson took a trip to China accompanied by team members; Kirk Mason of Mason Architecture and West Li of LLG International to present our designs and visit the site. After that the team took a 5 day tour through the Yunnan province to visit multiple furniture factories, vendors, antique stores and local markets. This was an eye-opening trip and we are happy to be able to share some stories of their travels. While in China, the design team was able to view the progress of the Clubhouse and tour the championship caliber 27-hole Golf Course designed by Reese Jones, Inc., for more information click here. Team from left to right: Lui Wei, Dave Goh, West Li, Kirk Mason, Kimberly Timmons & Carissa Thompson Constructed by local citizens, the 27 hole golf course was beautiful with its sloping terrain, overlooking the Yangzong Hia (the nearby lake). We got to drive the entire course in state of the art all-terrain golf carts, at one point scaling an un-finished trail to make it to the highest point of the course. It was fascinating to observe the building site and the methods of construction, which are quite different than what are seen in the US.   After visiting Kunming the team, Kimberly, Carissa and West traveled with an entourage of project consultants, to...

KTI Wins in 2011 Pret-a-Porter Fashion Show

The annual IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapters’ Pret-a-Porter Fashion show was held this September 16 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. It was a very exciting, fun and creative night where KTI was proud to have won the 1st Place Professional Award.                               KTI partnered with Haworth Office Furniture, to create this Japanese Theater Costume Inspired dress coined, “Queen of the Clouds”. However,  Pret-a-Porter is not all fun and games. Designs are judged based on creativity, craftsmanship, use of manufacturers materials, wearability, use of sustainable products, model presence and new this year, use of a specific color range. All designs had to be at least 75% in the value range of the Pantone color of the year, Honeysuckle.     Our very own Maui Sandoval was the model this year and she did a great job.
