With so many friends, colleagues, and contemporaries in attendance at the Marketing and Merchandising Excellence (MAME) Awards on Saturday Oct. 1st it was a great evening. Presented by the Sales & Marketing Council and HBA of Metro Denver, the event honors the highest standard of excellence in Denver’s homebuilding industry. Kimberly Timmons Interiors was thrilled to be involved with many different projects represented at this year’s awards and truly appreciates the confidence and commitment our clients have shown in our firm and our work. Success in residential development is about teamwork and the Denver MAME Awards recognize the different roles involved from design and construction to sales, marketing and management.
While we did come to win, and certainly win we did, we’re also invigorated by the day-to- day reality of working with clients to understand each opportunity and then digging ever deeper to find compelling solutions. That’s where the trust is established and earned and being recognized by the industry is really just the icing on the cake. We all love frosting though, so let’s celebrate our 2016 Denver MAME winners while the moment is fresh.
Our work with Century Communities and Godden/Sudik Architects, Inc. resulted in a resounding victory for one plan in particular. Marvella Plan 5020 won big all night, receiving awards in three separate categories. First it was selected as the Best Interior Merchandising of a Model – Detached Home – over 3,601 square feet. KTI’s design previewed a lifestyle of well-traveled affluence presented in earthy materials and colors. It was then selected for the prestigious Detached Home of the Year award, which takes the cumulative points awarded in both the interior design and product categories and adds the judges’ independent evaluations gained from a physical tour of each contending home. Finally, Marvella Plan 5020 was also recognized as the Design Series of the Year, which builds on the Detached Home of the Year Award criteria by also considering the developer’s presentation, marketing and sales programs.
A second well-regarded KTI project was the Happy Canyon Residence, an exceptional home that was certainly a special project for our firm. Selected for Best Outdoor Living Space, the home is almost more resort than residence, with deliberate focus on enjoying outdoor living though all four-seasons of Earthen materials of wood, stone, and metal connect the interiors of this unforgettable dream home to the surrounding natural beauty. A main-level veranda and lower level patio are joined by the infinity pool, cabana and pool house in enjoying magnificent views of the wooded grounds and mountains beyond. All-weather furnishings are accessorized by metal and stone tables at a variety of outdoor retreats. Soothing color choices with pops of red add effervescence to spaces designed to entertain groups small or large.
These awards mark excellence in the eyes of our peers and industry and mean a great deal to our firm and staff. Perhaps, just as importantly, they make us appreciate the friendships, relationships and challenges that accompany every great project.
